LeBron James was ejected in a game for first time in his nba career during the third quarter of the game between Cleveland Cavaliers’ and the Miami Heat on Tuesday, after arguing with referee Kane Fitzgerald about a call he didn’t agree with.
It wasn’t a good night of reunions for the former Heat players LeBron James and Dwyane Wade who were both facing their old coach, Erik Spoelstra. LeBron James seems to have been displeased with ref Fitzgerald at not being awarded a foul on a drive to the basket and was then given a technical foul making it the very first time the 32-years-old will be ejected in 1,082 regular-season games.
That was obviously not what James wanted to hear because he kept arguing and was quickly tossed.
“I got fouled”. “I showed my frustration to the ref and he sent me to the locker room.” James was quoted as saying after the game.
“I said what I had to say and I moved on but Fitzgerald decided I should get two technical fouls,” added the Cavaliers forward
“It is what it is. We got the win and that’s the most important.”
The Cavaliers were leading by 23 points with James having 21 points with 12 rebounds, six assists and five steals before he was ejected with just one minutes and 59 seconds left for the third quarter of the game with the Cavs leading 93-70 which they later won 108-97.
Last season’s Finals runners-up have now won nine games consecutively and sit third in the Eastern Conference behind Bolton Celtic and Detroit Piston with a 14-7 win-loss record.
